REACT – Restoration Ecology & Agent Choice Trajectories

Understanding what drives ecological restoration decisions is key to shaping effective policies. This research explores how communities, estate owners, and NGOs in Scotland approach land restoration. Using agent-based modeling, a simulation technique, we analyze how individual choices and interaction networks shape environmental outcomes. You can support us by participating in the survey.

Beyond modeling decision-making, the project highlights the role of community involvement, collaboration, and accessible information in aligning on-the-ground restoration actions with policy frameworks. By bridging these gaps, we aim to enhance both ecological recovery and social equity in restoration planning.
